WELCOME TO THE
DETROIT BREW UNION
DETROIT BREW UNION
Paying homage to the city we love . . . One beer at a time.
Detroit Brew Union is brought to you by a group of beer guys who hail from Detroit, Michigan. We’ve seen the rise, fall and now the new rise again of the city we love. In our hearts, we believe that beer is a social glue of community.
We love what is happening in Detroit and want to actively support it. A portion of each can of beer sold gets fed back into the graffiti artists we collaborate with – like the artist whose work is on this can – so they can more easily pursue their passion.
Detroit is back. Are you with us?
NEW CENTER PALE ALE
New Center Neighborhood, Western Detroit, Michigan
CUTTING EDGE BEFORE IT WAS IN FASHION

Often considered by historians as the original “edge” city, New Center was developed in the 1920’s as a sub-center remote from, but related to, a main urban core. City and business leaders imagined New Center as a business hub that would offer convenient access to outlying factories from downtown resources and support. New Center is most famously known for being the home of General Motors (GM) corporate campus up to the 1990s.
A new focus on urban revitalization has put the spotlight back on New Center as the city’s architectural gems –the Fisher Building and the Albert Kahn Building –have been procured by developers with expertise in urban projects.
Our New Center Pale Ale is a refreshing way to toast the new future of this section of Detroit. You can read more about the exciting revitalization projects and the area’s history by clicking THIS, THIS and THIS.
The taste of New Center Pale Ale – Medium bodied with light malt underpinnings, New Center is brewed with classic American hops which provide the chassis for the bright fruit flavors of New World American hops.
GRAND CIRCUS IPA
Grand Circus Park, Central Detroit, Michigan
ThE REMARKABLE ARTFORM OF RISING FROM THE ASHES

“We hope for better things; it will arise from the ashes,” (Speramusmeliora; resurgetcineribus) became the motto for Detroit after a great fire of 1805 destroyed most of the city’s French colonial architecture. The area was rebuilt with avenues radiating from its center.
Grand Circus Park, is now the home of Detroit’s theater district that includes the Detroit opera house, fountains, statues, memorials and lush greenspace.

The taste of Grand Circus IPA – The same motto rings true today. Our Grand Circus IPA celebrates the never-to-be-extinguished hearts of artists and neighbors everywhere. This light American IPA packs a wallop. Loads of American hops create a big aroma, with notes of tangerine and citrus flavor on the finish. Grand Circus is Detroit muscle in beer (IPA) form.
EAST GRAND AMBER ALE
East Grand Avenue, Northwestern Detroit Michigan
WHERE COMMERCE AND BEAUTY MEET

As a vibrant industrial hub of the Midwest region, Detroit was one of the largest cities in the United states in the early 19th century. To enhance the city’s repute, city leaders, inspired by the beautification movement in Paris, envisioned the city encircled by a grand entrance. Elegant tree-line streets with large, majestic homes were built to adorn the landscape along this magnificent boulevard, making it at the time one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the country.

The taste of East Grand Boulevard Amber Ale – The classic citrus profile of Cascade hops interwoven with a balanced malt backbone make East Grand the prototypical, hop forward, American Amber Ale. It is a delicious way to celebrate the bonds of friendship.
